Gay Marriage

Dear Friends,

There will be a marriage amendment on the ballot for the April 5th election, and this is important to the people of Kansas for many reasons. It means the validity of marriage could fall apart as we know it. The scripture gives us the idea of what marriage is, Genesis 2:18 says "The LORD God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him," and in Genesis 2:24, " For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh." Also, in Ephesians 5:25,"Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her." Did you read that? Where does that say anything about same-sex marriage? Holy marriage is a covenant between a man and a woman. "If marriage is no longer the union of one man and one woman but rather any persons who want to cohabit, who is to say that it must be limited to two people? Why not a trio of three men and women? And why not one man with two wives or ten? Afterall, we must extend "equal rights" to all individuals to live according to any arrangement they wish. The end result is the destruction of marriage as we know it, with children as the losers."-Dr. Erwin Lutzer. If gay marriage is legalized, they will be able to adopt children, and children will be exposed to their questionable lifestyles. They will think it is fine to live a sexually promiscuous lifestyle. With all this being done, the Christian lifestyle will suffer. The scripture says in Lev. 18:22, "Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable," and also in Lev. 20:13, "If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable." Gods word is very clear on this. So I think its obvious. Gods word says to love these people and pray for their salvation from their lifestyles, but Gods attitude towards same-sex marriage is the same as its been since the creation and it is our job to keep it that way.
